Brevard Film & Talent Welcomes Jaimie Engle as Guest Speaker
Melbourne, Florida, September 12 – Brevard Film & Talent promotes film production and related arts in Brevard County and throughout Florida by hosting guest speakers who provide entertaining and educational information related to the film industry. The September speaker will be award-winning local writer Jaimie Engle to share her first-year experience as a screenwriter who wrote, sold, and secured network distribution from her home in Satellite Beach. The meeting will be held at the Pane E Vino Italian Restaurant, Deli, & Bakery located at 1800 W. Hibiscus Blvd, Unit 122 in Melbourne, Florida on September 12 beginning at 6:30 pm.
“We really believe our members would be VERY interested to hear about Jaimie’s journey — especially now that she has done what so many dream of by having her books made into films/TV,” shared Sandy Granger Taulbee, President of Brevard Film and Talent. “Not to mention making that huge leap to writing screenplays.”
As an indie author, Jaimie has published 11 books. She made the decision in 2021 to begin a career as a screenwriter. After an online live class on screenwriting, she wrote and submitted two scripts in February 2021 to the executive producer and the director of True Brand Entertainment, who loved her story and made an offer to buy one of her submitted screenplays. That contract was signed in June 2022 with production slated to begin October 2022 and a distribution deal in place through the UpTV Faith & Family Network.
“It’s been my dream to work as a writer in the film industry since I was a little girl! I would write down all the dialogue to my favorite movies,” said Engle. “With my background as a novelist, I’m excited to be able to share aspects of writing and adapting work with local creatives to help them make their dreams come true, too.”
Engle is currently writing an adaptation of her screenplay and is releasing the story in episodic chapters via KindleVella at https://amzn.to/3TiETsI where the first three chapters of her upcoming novel “Just Jake” are free to read on your Kindle device.
