Creating layered character groups isn’t just about adding complexity—it’s about generating infinite potential for new stories. Think about Hunger Games’ District 12: beyond Katniss, there’s an entire ecosystem of miners, traders in the Hob, and even political figures like the mayor. Each group holds its own stories, ripe for exploration.

Or consider Harry Potter. The Houses at Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic, and other wizarding schools provide depth and hierarchy that aren’t just background—they’re gateways to spin-offs, side stories, and prequels (Fantastic Beasts, anyone?).
