Before we begin
We have a finished script. What do you need from us?
The script, any bible, treatment, or notes that exist, and a few hours of your time during Development. From there the writing is on me, and you see the work in four complete drops.
Who is credited on the book?
Credit, byline, and participation are set in the agreement before a word gets written. Every project is different, and that conversation is what the call is for.
What happens to our rights?
The novel is a separate work from the screenplay. How the two sit together, who controls what, and how the adaptation feeds back into the film rights all get spelled out in writing and reviewed by your counsel. Nothing moves without your signature.
How long does it take?
Nine months for a novel, six for a novella, three for a short story up to 15,000 words. Every drop has a delivery date and a read window set before we start, so the finish date is on the calendar from day one.
Are the fees really negotiable?
Yes. The flat fees are the straight cash version. If you’d rather move a smaller number up front and share backend or rights participation instead, bring me the structure and we’ll build the deal around what the project can carry.
Can you take the finished book to producers?
Through Chapter Frame™ and my pitch network, I work with producers at Netflix, DreamWorks, Tubi, UpTV, Hallmark, Paramount, Universal, A24, Apple, Skydance, and more. Pitching is offered at my discretion and is never a guarantee of a sale.
