47th Annual FAME Conference to be held in Orlando November 6-8, 2019
Orlando, FL, November 2019 – The Florida Association for Media in Education Conference is celebrating its 47th year at the Orlando Center Hotel in Orlando November 6-8, 2019. Expecting nearly 600 school librarians, technology specialists, and administrators, the three-day event features keynote presentation, paid workshops, and exciting sessions. Jaimie Engle of Melbourne, Florida, was invited to share on character and cosplay in her Thursday afternoon session titled “The Power of Masks: Cosplay and Character” located in Salon 12 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
“To present at FAME is a huge honor,” shared Engle, who just sold her first series in a 5-book publishing deal to INtense Publications of Texas. “I love sharing ideas from an author’s perspective with educators. Knowing that something they learn in my session will be shared with the next generation is so inspiring. Connecting pop culture fads like cosplay with literature is a great way for kids to understand concepts in characterization in both cosplay and writing.”
Engle will be signing books on Thursday from 12:30-1:15 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall, and attend the Author Speed Dating session on Wednesday evening from 5:15-6:15 p.m., in the Grand Ballroom B.
